The Great Lakes Transportation Enterprise Institute (GLTEI) is an organization that supports, promotes and develops initiatives aimed at safe, efficient and cost-effective highway, and other surface transportation. The GLTEI facilitates communications among private companies, the public sector and the academic community in the upper Midwest to enable partnerships and working relationships in pursuit of transportation-related innovation, green technologies and work-force sustainability. It is anticipated the GLTEI will make possible a range of outcomes that will improve highway transportation safety and productivity, such as crash test studies, training procedures and awards of grants from organizations like the National Cooperative Highway Research Program and the Transportation Research Board.
The GLTEI is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (application pending) with an initial board of directors who have donated their time and resources to establish the framework of the initiative.
